Lee Yih (USA)

Meet Lee Yih

Lee Yih shares that he was born as a result of date rape. He struggled with identity and belonging, growing up in Iowa and also in Taiwan. He always wanted to fit in. He heard about Jesus as a teenager, but later went on to ridicule Jewish college friends who became Christians.

While in the military, stationed in Germany, Lee Yih talks about feeling lost without any sense of direction and meaning. A Christian couple welcomed Lee Yih and his wife. He learned it was possible to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Lee Yih describes feeling overwhelmed by God’s love, humbling himself and calling out to God to receive Christ. He describes how Jesus turned his life around and has provided the ultimate sense of joy and fulfillment.

Meet Charlie

Charlie Duke is an Apollo astronaut and famous for his landing on the moon. He shares how riveting that experience was. At the same time he acknowledges that he lacked peace in his life. Although he sought success, success was never enough. Charlie also talks about problems he encountered in his marriage and the strains of parenting. God brought peace, joy and stability into Charlie’s life when Charlie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He describes Christ as his firm foundation for life.

Cindy (Dominican Republic)

Meet Cindy

Cindy explains how she was a very career-orientated woman, and after she got married she passionately pursued her career. She talks about the stresses on her marriage as a newlywed. Around this same time, she felt compelled to find spiritual answers. She had grown up in the Catholic tradition, but her husband had an evangelical background. She attended an evangelical church. Her spiritual curiosity grew, and she ended up at an evangelical conference in the US, where she believed the gospel and became a follower of Jesus Christ.

God has shown Cindy through the Bible His design for womanhood and the family. Over time God changed Cindy’s thinking about work and home life. Cindy shares how God did the unthinkable in her life by giving her the desire to become a stay at home mom and homeschool her children. Cindy experiences joy in her life because she knows she’s living out God’s will for her, rather than what the world defines as success in a woman’s life.
