Meet Adam

Adam says he has always wanted to be successful and a high achiever. As a teen, he discovered that God wanted a relationship with him, so he trusted in the work of Jesus Christ to make him right with God. Adam talks about how he became proudful about his relationship with God. Adam also had dreams about making it big in the film industry. He shares how God changed his heart and started working out His plan for Adam to become a pastor.

Meet Lonnie

Lonnie shares how he wanted a successful life and fulfillment. He sought those things through “dream jobs”, financial plans, and marriage. He still felt incomplete, so he started going to church. He got heavily involved in serving in the church but he describes how he had not understood the gospel, and thought his good deeds would make him right with God. God showed Lonnie the truth of the gospel that only through faith in Jesus Christ can we be made right with Him. Lonnie let go of his efforts and accepted Jesus’ work on the cross on his behalf.

At the same time, he also felt very unfulfilled. He got to know a girl who he liked and went to her church. He heard the gospel and how he was dead in his sin and at odds with his Creator. Mark believed Jesus died in his place. He talks about the abundant life he now has with Jesus. He believes nothing really matters outside of Christ.

Cindy (Dominican Republic)

Meet Cindy

Cindy explains how she was a very career-orientated woman, and after she got married she passionately pursued her career. She talks about the stresses on her marriage as a newlywed. Around this same time, she felt compelled to find spiritual answers. She had grown up in the Catholic tradition, but her husband had an evangelical background. She attended an evangelical church. Her spiritual curiosity grew, and she ended up at an evangelical conference in the US, where she believed the gospel and became a follower of Jesus Christ.

God has shown Cindy through the Bible His design for womanhood and the family. Over time God changed Cindy’s thinking about work and home life. Cindy shares how God did the unthinkable in her life by giving her the desire to become a stay at home mom and homeschool her children. Cindy experiences joy in her life because she knows she’s living out God’s will for her, rather than what the world defines as success in a woman’s life.
