David (Germany)

Meet David

David literally darkened his world, blocking out any light from entering his apartment. Depressed and grief-stricken from the death of his mother – God entered David’s world – bringing His light, love and life.

David talks about the devastating impact that the death of his mother had on him as a ten year old boy. Filled with sadness and pain, he ran away from home and got involved in crime. He also started taking drugs and was aggressive.

David became obsessed with death and darkened his apartment, refusing to have any light come in. He describes having an epileptic seizure at which point God showed David how much darkness was in his soul. David cried out to God for help.

Thereafter, David started attending a church where the pastor explained why David felt so empty and unfulfilled. David heard the Gospel and believed in the truth that Jesus died for him to take away his sins.

David describes how Jesus has turned his life around. He has joy and purpose. He now lives for Jesus who he describes as his best friend, the one who shows David love every day.

Gordon (South Africa)

Meet Gordon

Gordon put on a front while feeling empty and having very low self-esteem. His life spiraled into drug and alcohol addiction, as well as pornography use and sex. Nothing gave satisfaction. Gordon reached a very low point and was about to take drugs again after completing rehab. But Jesus Christ stopped him and showed him how much He loved him. Gordon placed his faith in Jesus and knows he’s washed clean from his sin. He has found true satisfaction in Christ, is no longer an addict, and has peace and hope for his life.

Bridget (Zimbabwe)

Meet Bridget

Bridget is originally from Zimbabwe. She moved to South Africa and found the transition very hard. Bridget describes having an emptiness in her life and lacking direction. She was just about to move again to Australia to find what she was looking for, when she was invited to a church and heard the gospel. Bridget explains she learned two things: that Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with Christ, and that salvation is through faith alone and not by her good works. She trusted in Christ and has found the purpose and direction for her life that she longed for.

Devlin (South Africa)

Meet Devlin

Devlin says his story is all about looking for fulfillment. As a teenager, he tried different things to feel full such as achieving at school and partying. None of these satisfied. Devlin also struggled growing up because of his parent’s divorce. He felt anger towards God and had difficulties with his relationships. Then at a youth camp, Devlin trusted in Christ. He shares how he found the fulfillment he had been searching for, and God used his new found faith to help start a revival in Devlin’s school. Devlin also shares that he got caught up in habitual sin, yet despite his wandering away, God drew him back and he received Christ’s grace and forgiveness. He talks about the delight in obeying Christ’s way.

Gary (USA)

Meet Gary

Gary shares he had no spiritual interest. He did well in his career but suffered from anxiety – especially about dying. When questioned about it, he had no certainty he would go to heaven. God drew Gary to himself through a Bible study. Gary accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and now has the certainty of going to heaven. Gary relies on God to help him through times when he feels anxious, and God has helped him re-organize his life priorities so he can be a better husband and father.

Stella (Romania)

Meet Stella

Stella is from Communist Romania and grew up in the Greek Orthodox tradition. By her teens, Stella decided that it was impossible for her to reach heaven and that God was angry and punishing her for her sins. Stella moved to the US in her twenties without any family or friends. She began searching for ways to reach God. Stella tried meditation, eastern religions, but could not attain what she was looking for. Then she was invited to a gospel-preaching church. Stella realized that it is Jesus Christ alone who can bring her to God. She trusted in Him for the removal of her sins. She talks about the peace she now has.

Mark (Australia)

Meet Mark

In Mark’s interview he talks about how he became a Christian and how his relationship with God has helped him in different areas of his life, including parenting and anxiety. Mark shares that he did not have a good relationship with his dad growing up. His dad suffered from bipolar disorder which made life very unstable for Mark. Mark didn’t learn how to have a personal relationship with Jesus until he was an adult during a time when his stepson was gravely ill. He describes being with his stepson in hospital and praying to God with a Bible in his hand. A stranger walked past Mark and showed him the verses in his Bible he needed to know to receive Christ. Mark has embraced God’s fatherly love for Him, which has healed the void left by his relationship with his earthly father.

Lane shares that he didn’t grow up knowing about Christianity. During college years he heard the Gospel and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Lane did not immediately live for God, he chose worldly success and money. He shares how unfulfilling those years were, but how God brought him and his wife close to Him. Lane has dedicated his life to God, and he speaks of the joy and fulfillment he now experiences.

Meet Lisa. Lisa shares her early life felt empty and unstable. She tried to fill the void with drugs and alcohol. After her twin brother was killed in a train accident she had anger towards God and became an atheist. Despite a successful career, Lisa continued to make reckless choices and this affected her ability to parent her young son. Lisa describes how God took her at her lowest point and she trusted in Christ’s work for the forgiveness of her sins. God gave Lisa a new start and now she has Jesus as her source of stability.
