Petra (Czech Republic)

Meet Petra

Petra talks about her devastation when her mother died. She had called out to God to help, but when nothing happened, she thought about God no more. In her grief, she met some Christian friends and she was very drawn to their kindness. Over time, she realized that it was the love of God in them. At a Christian event, God allowed Petra to see Him clearly for the first time. She believed that Jesus died on the cross on her behalf. She delights in the personal relationship she has with Jesus, and He provides comfort and rest for Petra when she thinks about the loss of her mother.

Sarah became a Christian at a young age. She has experienced trauma and sorrow as an adult through the sudden death of her mother and suicide of her father. Her child was also born very premature. Amanda shares how she grew up in a religious environment but didn’t personalize what Jesus had done for her until an adult. Amanda speaks of her sorrow losing a newborn to a fatal disease and the pain of a miscarriage. God helped Amanda process these hard times. She has peace knowing her babies are in heaven. Amanda shares how she surrendered the desire to have children to God. She soon learned after she let go of control that she was pregnant again. She now has 2 children is thankful she can be a stay at home mom.

Meet Nathan

Nathan shares how he was afraid of going to hell and he prayed a prayer for God to save him. But he shares how he was still hard hearted towards God. His fake Christian life became real when God convicted Nathan of his sins and Nathan geniunely turned to Jesus and accepted him as his Lord and Savior. Nathan describes the pain and questions he has about loosing his younger brother in a freak accident. But God has also given Nathan a peace about the tragedy and knows that in the fullness of time, he will understand.

Roger and Sharon (USA)

Meet Roger and Sharon

Roger shares that his father passed away while he was a boy. They both describe irregular church attendance as a young married couple. Roger knew the gospel but didn’t want to give his life to Christ. Sharon knew Jesus had died for her, but didn’t understand how to receive the gift of salvation. A pastor encouraged Roger and Sharon to place their faith in Christ. They responded and received Christ. Roger shares that his life priorities changed once Jesus became his Lord and Savior. He speaks of his happiness at knowing Jesus, and Sharon speaks of their happy marriage and the joy and comfort she has with the people God has placed in their lives.

Pat shares he wasn’t very interested in spiritual things as a young person. He relied on drugs and experienced difficulties early in his married life. Pat describes how he started to become interested in spiritual things through a brother and co-worker. He trusted in Christ, and his interest in spiritual things continued to grow. He went to Bible college and became a pastor. Pat shares about the sudden death of his young first wife, and how God gave him hope and strength. God blessed Pat with his second wife and their large blended family. Pat shares some anguishes as a father, but rests in God’s plan and God’s control.
