Stella (Romania)

Meet Stella

Stella is from Communist Romania and grew up in the Greek Orthodox tradition. By her teens, Stella decided that it was impossible for her to reach heaven and that God was angry and punishing her for her sins. Stella moved to the US in her twenties without any family or friends. She began searching for ways to reach God. Stella tried meditation, eastern religions, but could not attain what she was looking for. Then she was invited to a gospel-preaching church. Stella realized that it is Jesus Christ alone who can bring her to God. She trusted in Him for the removal of her sins. She talks about the peace she now has.

Greg eventually got a divorce, and through a new relationship, Greg felt drawn to God and desired a relationship with Him. Greg describes giving control of his life to God. He asked his former wife for forgiveness. Greg talks about God as a light during dark times of his life.

Pat (USA)

Meet Pat

Pat shares he wasn’t very interested in spiritual things as a young person. He relied on drugs and experienced difficulties early in his married life. Pat describes how he started to become interested in spiritual things through a brother and co-worker. He trusted in Christ, and his interest in spiritual things continued to grow. He went to Bible college and became a pastor. Pat shares about the sudden death of his young first wife, and how God gave him hope and strength. God blessed Pat with his second wife and their large blended family. Pat shares some anguishes as a father, but rests in God’s plan and God’s control.

Meet Patrice

Patrice was a very ambitious guy who did well at everything he tried – college, martial arts, and his own business. He talks about the frustration of never feeling satisfied, and needing the approval of others. He became interested in spiritual things and went to a church where he heard the gospel. He believed that Jesus died for him, and all his performance anxiety and weight he was carrying was lifted off his shoulders. His life now has peace and centers around Jesus.
