Meet Petra

Petra talks about her devastation when her mother died. She had called out to God to help, but when nothing happened, she thought about God no more. In her grief, she met some Christian friends and she was very drawn to their kindness. Over time, she realized that it was the love of God in them. At a Christian event, God allowed Petra to see Him clearly for the first time. She believed that Jesus died on the cross on her behalf. She delights in the personal relationship she has with Jesus, and He provides comfort and rest for Petra when she thinks about the loss of her mother.

Meet Meredith

Merideth knew the gospel growing up but into adult years she describes pushing God away and following sinful choices. She had doubts about God, and life got close to breaking point for her through a set of circumstances. Following her marriage and becoming a mom, Merideth started attending a church and Bible study. Through that, she understood that God is willing and able to forgive her for her sins. She placed her faith in Jesus’ work on the cross and now has freedom knowing she is forgiven.

Meet Lisa

Meet Lisa. Lisa shares her early life felt empty and unstable. She tried to fill the void with drugs and alcohol. After her twin brother was killed in a train accident she had anger towards God and became an atheist. Despite a successful career, Lisa continued to make reckless choices and this affected her ability to parent her young son. Lisa describes how God took her at her lowest point and she trusted in Christ’s work for the forgiveness of her sins. God gave Lisa a new start and now she has Jesus as her source of stability.

Meet Lore

Lore describes some difficult things that happened to her growing up – her brother was tragically killed and her parents divorced. She felt lonely, but that loneliness was overcome when she joined a very welcoming church. She describes hearing the gospel at church but never really understood about Jesus, His death and her sin. Her deep sense of lack of peace came to a climax when she told her pastor (and employer) that she had doubts about God’s existence. Shortly thereafter she gave up her whole life and moved to another state just so she could sit in on a Bible study run by Jen Wilkin. There, reading Genesis 1:1, God revealed Himself to Lore and she believed the truth of the gospel. Over the next few months reading the book of Genesis, Lore came to a rich understanding of God and her own sin.
